The broad remit of responsibilities includes 

·         Ensuring all collections/deliveries are made in a professional and timely fashion.

·         To resolve issues/queries effectively and to escalate to relevant departments where necessary.

·         To establish good working relationships with customers.

·         Conduct a thorough inspection of the vehicle before departing

Person Specifications 

·         Minimum 1 year experience driving a Heavy Goods Vehicle

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.

·         Must hold all relevant C/EC Licence/Driver Digital Card/CPC Card.

·         A good level of written and spoken English is an advantage.

·         Ability to work under pressure.

·         Excellent driving history with an accident-free record.

            Planning your routes and daily schedule (working with other drivers to schedule the best service)
            Clean and tidy appearance as working in many environments i.e. Hosp./offices
            On-site inductions and Garda vetting for several sites.
            Following Thorntons and customers health and safety procedures.
            Driving company vehicles to customer sites.
            Maintaining company van.
            Removal of shredding materials from sites into shredding vehicles (heavy lifting of bags/bins)
            Helping with warehouse operations when needed.
            Dealing with customer requests at each site.

            Job Specification
            Must have a full clean Driving license.

            Principal Objective of Position:
            To manage & plan routes in an efficient and cost-effective manner while ensuring the service delivered 
            exceeds customer’s expectations.

            Responsibilities: 
            To Ensure all routes planned efficiently and in sequence – ongoing review and update
            Check all service locations are mapped correctly and update accordingly.
            All commercial bins services are accurately weighed – ensure bins are chipped and recorded    properly on system and truck weighing systems are working correctly and calibrated to standards.
            Ensure all vehicle systems are working properly ie. Cameras, telemetry/routing, weighing, safety systems and being used properly by Drivers and crews
            Liaise with other departments in relation to new customer setup, bin deliveries and scheduling and internal queries
            Monitoring vehicle performance 
            Proactively liaise with drivers, operatives  and Drivers Supervisor 
            Maintain and Improve Customer service levels
            Ad hoc duties as requested by your Manager

            Key Skills:
            Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Senior Transport role – industry experience a preference.
            Ability to communicate with staff and managers.
            Project Management – specification to completion.

            Job Overview

            The purpose of this role is to ensure all services are covered adequately by planning and allocating suitable vehicles, trained drivers and systems and work practices to meet the requirement of the company’s customers.
            The role includes allocating of new customer accounts to existing transport routes, and the continual monitoring and optimization of transport routes, to ensure the most efficient and logical routes are in place.

            Responsibilities and Duties
            •Ensure there are adequate drivers available to meet the company requirements each day
            •Ensure all vehicles are compliant with agreed service & DOE requirements
            •Continually in contact with drivers to get updates on work.
            •Use camera system and telematics are used to monitor drivers and check when drivers claim no access or wasted journeys.
            •Ensure routes are logical and all new customer accounts are added to routes, which make logical geographical sense, and within a timely window to enable new customer services stat promptly.
            •Deal with urgent queries from Customer Care, and queries escalated through the Sales Team and management.
            •Communicate with drivers and ensure they know their working days/hours and what is required of them. 

            Qualifications

              • Ability to manage in high pressurized situations
              • Ability to use company systems ( Weighsoft; telematics; Camera Systems; and Microsoft Office Products)
              • Be personable and approachable for all staff (transport team & other departments)

              • Understand legal requirements for Working Time Directive, RSA driving hours, Licensing and Health & Safety rules
              • Be flexible and prepared to work extra hours when required to ensure no failures of service
              • Be prepared to work Saturdays Time in Lieu will be provided.
